The BoatCast welcomes Rock Boat XXII soundcheck winner Floorbird back to the podcast. Floorbird is a pop-punk band from Philadelphia, PA that formed during the COVID pandemic. The band is composed of Eric Reavey (vocal/guitar), Kevin Folk (guitar), Drew Grahn (bass), and Tom Brucker (drums).

Band members give the BoatCast a recap of their Rock Boat experience and what a whirlwind it has been since the band's inception during the pandemic. "Who is Will Turpin (of Collective Soul)?"

Collective Soul’s Will Turpin

It's an honor for the BoatCast to welcome Will Turpin (bass/backup vocals) of Collective Soul to the podcast. He shares his excitement about playing the upcoming Let’s Go Music Festival and relives his memories of the Rock Boat.

Collective Soul is an iconic American Rock band of the early 90s who have not only released 4 platinum records but also won multiple Billboard music awards. Will leads off by talking about how the band has evolved and how they continue to take so much pride in making sure they are the most reputable live rock band they can be. Will, whose father Bill was a lifelong musician and founder of Real 2 Reel Studios in Jonesboro, GA, truly understands the power of music. After Will's father passed in late 2018, he went on to co-own his father's studio and takes deep pride in that endeavor. It's also amazing to hear the history of the studio, as Ed Roland (lead singer) and Collective Soul essentially originated from this studio.

Will tells another amazing story about how he was in a pizza shop with Jett and Ryan of Sister Hazel when they told him about how they were going to charter 1/2 a boat. Will remembered thinking how cool the idea was but "had no idea it would turn into the franchise and the juggernaut that is now The Rock Boat". He talks about how much he and the band enjoyed their experiences on the Rock Boat and how they still have life-long friendships with people they met on the boat.

The BoatCast welcomes 11-time Rock Boater Dawn Shaw to the podcast! Dawn needs no introduction to avid rock boaters but on this past rock boat Dawn had the privilege to be part of the official Rock Boat schedule. For anyone not familiar with Dawn, she is a published author, motivational speaker and even gave a TEDx talk titled "Beauty is an Inside Job".

Dawn has published three books, including her memoir Facing Up to It and more recently an inspirational guide titled Facial Shift, Adjusting to an Altered Appearance.
