Trained in the Psychodynamic tradition, he uses both Relational and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in his treatment approach. He believes that quality psychiatric treatment starts with therapy. When necessary, he relies on his extensive experience to collaboratively develop an individualized medication plan with patients. He understands that some individuals may worry about potential medication side-effects and he encourages an open discussion about the risks, benefits, and alternatives to any treatment plan. After all, when you choose to work with Dr. Travis, your concerns about medications become his concerns.
Dr. Travis is a graduate of Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine Psychiatry Adult Residency Program (known for training some of the best psychiatrists in Philadelphia) and attended Medical School at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech. He completed his college education at Catholic University (Washington D.C.)
